Introduction of Speakers in Session Two


Jean-Philippe Raynaud is a seasoned executive who has turned his experience in the environment, energy, and technology sectors at the service of the challenges of climate change and fair governance. He has held executive positions in global utility companies in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. He was more recently the CEO of a multinational energy company in China, where he has been living for 4 years. He is deeply engaged in promoting business strategies and operations bridged with environmental preservation, energy transformation and sustainable development.


Xu Hao, Vice President of Sustainable Social Value at Tencent, is the head of Tencent SSV Carbon Neutrality Lab and oversees strategic work in digital and low carbon related areas. He was previously a global managing partner of McKinsey & Company, mainly focusing on sustainability-related business in Greater China, Southeast Asia and India. He holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Sheffield, UK.


Martin Rune Hoxer is the Executive Director for Innovation Centre Denmark (ICDK) in Shanghai, a joint collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Science and Education in Denmark, ICDK supports Danish R&D intensive companies and research institutions to find partners, projects and markets in China. Martin is also a board member of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Global Tech Board, and a member of the advisory board for business programs at Aalborg University. He has vast experience in project management, strategy development and funding, innovation, quality and process improvement, and internationalization.


Augusto Soto is Director of Dialogue with China Project and President of The China-Europe Association for the Promotion of Mutual and Sustainable Trust. Dialogue with China is an independent electronic platform with intercontinental reach aimed at discussing current events, intercultural and international issues as well as promoting projects for a better understanding and interaction with China in the real world. He is Adjunct Professor at ESADE Business School. He has also been lecturing for several years at the Open University of Catalunya, Autonomous University of Barcelona and CIDOB. Augusto Soto studied Chinese at the Beijing Language Institute and Chinese Contemporary History at Beijing University during the latter half of the 1980s.


Xuan Zihan is a youth climate advocate and the Co-Lead of the COP26 Global Youth Statement, a representative and inclusive climate policy document drafted in consultation with more than 40,000 young people from more than 135 countries around the world. Currently, Zi Han reads Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at University College London, and interns at both the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the World Meteorological Organisation.


Juan Manuel Gabarron is the executive director at Gabarron Foundation Asia (GFA). Prior to GFA, Juan was the executive director, at the Gabarron Foundation in New York for over a decade, an art organization in the Spanish and Latin American art space. Previously, he was an IT and design teacher at ESPRI/Universidad de León, in Valladolid, Spain. He developed the divisions of the global (GF) in USA and Asia, implementing an original art and cultural foundation with exhibitions in top museums, biennales, public areas and art fairs. He has established and manage strategic partner relationships for key public art programs in USA and China as well as other partnerships with private corporations, governments and NGOs.


Chen Suping, President of Innovative Research Institute of Science Popularization (IRISP), Chairman of Shenzhen Handle, President of Shenzhen New Media Association, Vice-president of Shenzhen Non-governmental Organization Federation, Cultural Industry Management Mentor of Shanghai University of International Business and Economics. He has produced animated film "The Journey of a Drop of Water", documentary "The Path of Green", "Wake Up" and other film and TV works with ecological and environmental protection themes, using the public welfare + commercial mode to carry out the science, technology, and green communication. In 2015, Chen founded Handle Climate Change Film Festival (HCCFF) and attended the UN Climate Change Conference as a member of the Chinese government delegation for five consecutive years (2015-2019).


Christopher Dunn is Deputy Director for the UK Department for International Trade in China, based at the British Consulate-General in Shanghai. Chris and his team are responsible for promoting trade and investment between the UK and China in the environment, infrastructure and transport sectors. Chris began his career in the UK, holding several positions including at the Environment Agency and a leading sustainability consultancy. He moved to China in 2012 and worked for Beijing-based NGO the Global Environmental Institute as Communications and Program Manager. Since joining the UK Government’s network in China in 2015, Chris has held multiple roles at the British Embassy Beijing and Consulate in Shanghai. He is currently a Global EMBA candidate at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS).


Emilio Quinte currently works as Communication Specialist and Cultural Consultant for Made In Heritage, a startup specialized in the digitization of cultural and corporate heritage. Emilio is also working as project manager at the Fair Value Measurement of Fondazione Cini's art historical assets. In the course of almost 25 years of professional experience he has been involved in the promotion and enhancement of cultural and tourist resources in organizations of great history and prestige such as the Fondazione Giorgio Cini (Venice) and the Touring Club Italiano (Milan). For 12 years, he has taught marketing of culture and tourism at the IULM University in Milan.
